Default I have a few questions/problems

Ok so I've played this game for like 5-6 months total spread out over a year and a half (breaks and stuff) To this day...

I have never had a PvE character hit level 20

I have never had more than 5 platinum

I can never find or buy a decent weapon or armor.

My heroes suck.

I have never farmed and have no clue what farming is.

I see all these posts with people who have insane amounts of money green gold purple weapons, where can I come across these? Also what does it mean with green gold and purple weapons, like the name is purple or the weapon itself is that color.

Can someone help me out with the above and, explain to me what farming is and how I can make some cash for some armor and weapons.

In factions or nightfall, usually takes you a few days to get to lvl 20 if you take it slow. As for earning gold, doing quests will get you quite a fair amount of gold.

Farming refers to killing enemies, to get particular drops, at the point you are, there isn't any farming. Farming usually take place in high end areas while there is some in other areas but you have to be lvl 20 to farm effectively and get to the areas where the drops are good.

It looks like your problem is that you stay too long in the tutorial islands. You don't get max armor or max weapons until you reach the mainland (or Consulate Docks in Nighfall). Your Nightfall character should be able to get max armor at the Consulate Docks like I just mentioned or you can do the (very short) quest to get to Kaineng Center and get max armor there. Money is also relatively hard to get in the tutorial islands. You generally don't get decent money or drops until you reach the mainland. The islands you start on are only a small part of the game, you still have a long ways to go before you actually finish any of the games.

As for leveling, the quickest way to level in Guild Wars, regardless of campaign, is to complete quests. While it *is* possible to be level 20 when you leave the tutorial islands, most people are generally only over level 15 when they leave for the mainland where they finish leveling. The monsters there are higher level, so they give better exp. The quests there also give better rewards in terms of exp. This information isn't strictly true in regards to Prophecies, but I don't want to overwhelm you with information.

As for your heroes, if you say they suck, have you tried giving them different builds? Heroes are not human players and can't use certain skills correctly. I would suggest giving them very simple builds where they can generally spam their skills and be ok.

Farming is where you use a specific build and go by yourself or with a small group (generally not a full party) to kill a specific enemies to get their drops. This usually includes green weapons or valuable drops such as globs of ectoplasm, gold items, etc.

For a LOT more information on everything Guild Wars, I'd strongly suggest you check out guildwiki.org

There is a way to get a couple of gold drops on the NF tutorial bit - there are 2 buried treasure chests, on in Mehtani Keys and the other in the Issnur Isles. You may find some interesting stuff in them

In Factions, play through the game. You should be able to afford the high armour at Kaineng. Once you have pretty much all the game complete, check the forums for Factions farming builds for your profession. Witte's list of solo farming : http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10038096 is very useful.

Nightfall, play through the game as usual, take note of the Buried Treasure and stuff that is commonly found, they should give you 500g-2k depending where you find them + a gold weapon. You can find their locations on guildwiki.

Finally prophecies, probably the hardest one to 'get into' seeing as the high AL guy is right down in Droks forge, dont be tempted to waste your money getting a run down there. Play through the game, then come back and see what you can solo.

Keep soloing and watch the cash go upppp

best way save money is not to spend it...buy your max armor and runes...and some skills....save the rest....give heros stuff you get as drops until u have enough cash to spend on em....just remember its hard to save money and get over the 20k mark if u spend it as soon as u get it :P

Another tip for helping to save up money in any of the campaigns is to use the "Collectors" armour until you get to max level armour.

If you search guildwiki as suggested by Melisande and put in the keyword "Collector" it'll give you a list of all the collectors in each chapter, what they collect and what they will give you in exchange for items. The items they collect are usually specific to the area where the collector is situated. This will save you quite a few gold in the long run.

Also, I know this may seem very basic - pick up all of your drops. Sell anything that can't be used by you or your heroes to the merchant. Keep any crafting materials that you may get in your storage, which will help to reduce the outlay when you do get to max armour.
